Grandview Peak is a 9,410-foot summit in the Wasatch Range about nine miles northeast of Salt Lake City, and it is the highest point within the city’s boundaries. Located in Wasatch National Forest, it stands on the divide between Mill Creek and City Creek, with runoff from its north slope entering Mill Creek and water from its south slope draining toward City Creek. Its steep relief gives it unusual prominence so near the city, rising nearly 2,000 feet above City Creek in about a mile and about 1,200 feet above Mill Creek in 0.7 mile. This elevation, sharp local rise, and closeness to Salt Lake City make it a striking feature of the northeastern skyline.
