The Commonwealth of Massachusetts erected this memorial stone to commemorate the Compact, or Constitution of Government, signed by the Pilgrims on board the Mayflower in Provincetown Harbor on November 11, 1620, old style. On the reverse is the text of the Compact with the names of the signers.
