Uxbridge honored the soldiers and sailors who served with the United States or its allies during World War I, naming Charles F. Bain, Herbert E. Blair, Ralph Coppola, John J. Creighton, Edward Horton, Edward F. Maroney, William P. Monahan, Carl Mulrain, Charles A. Rice, Theodorea A. Southwick, Harold B. Taft, and William J. Wall in memoriam; it also invoked battlefields including Chateau-Thierry, Belleau Wood, the Marne, Seichprey, St. Quentin, the Argonne, Cantigney, Verdun, Rheims, Cambrai, St. Mihiel, Arras, Valenciennes, Laon, Armentieres, and Chemen des Dames, called the conflict the Great War for Civilization, named France, Italy, Serbia, Japan, Montenegro, Russia, Greece, Great Britain, Belgium, Brazil, Portugal, Rumania, and China among the allied nations, and recorded a roll of honor of 280 men and women from Uxbridge who served in the war.
