In 1850, this site was the Way Homestead, one of Media's original farmhouses. Isaac Chalfont built a livery stable here in 1883 and operated a stage line to Chester, and horses from here were provided to haul apparatus for the Media Fire Company. The property was later purchased for construction of a post office building, dedicated on Armistice Day in 1918 during the administration of President Woodrow Wilson, and in 1969 it was acquired by Media Borough and converted into municipal offices.
