Mill Creek Covered Bridge, southwest of Tangier, Indiana, spans Wabash Mill Creek as a single-span Burr Arch Truss built in 1907. Also known as Thompson's Ford, Tow Path, and Earl Ray Covered Bridge, it reflects nearby families, roads, and landmarks. Its surroundings preserve evidence of an older transportation corridor shaped by the Wabash and Erie Canal, whose towpath later became part of a road after the canal was abandoned, and whose drained aqueduct was sometimes used as a bridge. Though construction began with contract troubles involving D. M. Brown and William Hendricks, the bridge endured and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
