Yellow Aster Butte is a 6,241-foot summit in northern Washington's Skagit Range, near the Canada–United States border in the Mount Baker Wilderness. Surrounded by prominent North Cascades peaks, it is prized for broad summit views that include Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, Mount Larrabee, and nearby border peaks. Its slopes drain into Tomyhoi, Damfino, and Swamp creeks, and access commonly begins from Twin Lakes Road via the Tomyhoi Lake and Yellow Aster Butte trails. The butte stands in a rugged landscape shaped over millions of years by tectonic activity, uplift, faulting, volcanic processes, terrane accretion, and repeated glaciation, with a wet marine climate bringing heavy winter snow and avalanche danger.
