Dr. Harvey Coe Hullinger came by wagon train from Nebraska to Salt Lake City in 1859. He later homesteaded in Ashley Valley in 1883 and became the first physician in the Uintah Basin. He was also a county commissioner, a surveyor, and built a schoolhouse. At his death, he was the oldest Civil War veteran and the oldest and longest LDS member.
