Big Sycamore Canyon is a major canyon in Point Mugu State Park in Ventura County, California, in the northern Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area below Boney Mountain. Running from the interior mountains to Sycamore Cove on the Pacific coast, it forms one of the area's main natural corridors and preserves a rare riparian woodland along the California coastline, marked by California sycamores. For thousands of years it served as an important passage for the Ventureño Chumash and Tongva peoples between Conejo Valley and the ocean. Near its upper reaches, the Satwiwa village site reflects that long history, and the canyon remains a well-known access and recreation route.
