Tri Peaks is a 3,009-foot mountain in the Santa Monica Mountains of Southern California and the range’s second-highest summit, exceeded only by nearby Sandstone Peak. Associated with the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and the Backbone Trail, it stands out as a prominent high point in the mountains west of Los Angeles. Its name comes from the mountain’s three-part summit form, which gives it a distinctive profile within the range.
