Constructed circa 1894, this house is a good example of a wood frame Victorian Queen Anne style dwelling. Its form is asymmetrical, and major features include gable-end projections and a pyramidal turret. The home was built by William Toombs, a native of Northampton, England, who was employed as a roadmaster on a division of the Utah & Northern and Oregon Short Line Railroad and spent the later years of his life as a rancher in northern Utah. The home retains its historic and architectural integrity and is an important contribution to Logan City's Center Street Historic District.
