Crown Mountain is a 7,155-foot volcanic summit in Brewster County, in the Chisos Mountains of Big Bend National Park in far West Texas. It ranks as the sixth-highest peak in the park, the range, and the county, though much lower in statewide standing. Formed from the Chisos Formation in the Paleogene period, it rises sharply above nearby canyons, standing nearly 2,000 feet above Pine Canyon in 0.75 miles and about 2,650 feet above Juniper Canyon in 1.25 miles. The mountain lies in a hot arid climate, its runoff ultimately reaches the Rio Grande watershed, and its lower slopes support juniper, oak, and piñon.
