Built in 1935-36, Marsac Elementary School was one of more than 230 public works buildings constructed in Utah under various New Deal programs during the Depression years of the 1930s and 1940s. Although only 130 of those buildings remain extant and well preserved, their construction provided temporary work relief and long-term benefits through improved facilities for local public programs. Such buildings included public schools, county courthouses, city halls, libraries, National Guard armories, and others. The building was designed by Carl W. Scott and George W. Welch, architects who designed numerous school buildings across the state as well as commercial and institutional buildings in Salt Lake City. In 1983, Park City Municipal Corporation purchased the building and renovated it to house city offices.
