Constructed in 1906 at a cost of $20,000, this building was originally known as the Reuben D. Hill Building. Its name was changed to the Gray Brick Building when it was purchased, along with two other buildings, by the Williamsburg Institute in 1907 from Highland College, a Congregationalist college. Administrative offices moved from Roburn Hall to this building and were located here from 1921 to 1955, and the structure also served as classrooms from 1921 to the present. In 2000, the Gray Brick Building was renamed the Clyde V. and Patricia Bennett Building to honor these friends. Mr. Bennett, 1930-2000, was a businessman and coal executive.
