Mount Magalloway
Nature
Mount Magalloway, also known as Magalloway Mountain, rises 3,383 feet in the Great North Woods of northern New Hampshire and ranks among the tallest mountains in Pittsburg, the state’s northernmost community. Its summit is prized for a sweeping view that reaches across three U.S. states and into Quebec, underscoring the borderland setting of this corner of New Hampshire. Though remote, the peak is accessible by a short trail of less than 1 mile from a logging road off Magalloway Road, climbing about 800 feet. Near the top, a former watcher’s cabin survives, connecting today’s recreation with the mountain’s past use in forest observation.
