Bridal Veil Falls, a 607-foot double-cataract at the south end of Provo Canyon in Utah County, is one of the canyon's best-known landmarks. Long valued for its height and roadside setting near Bridal Veil Park, it also became a recreation destination when a six-passenger aerial tramway opened in 1961 to Eagle's Nest Lodge atop the falls. That attraction faded after an avalanche destroyed lower tramway buildings in 1996 and a 2008 arson fire ruined the upper structure; remaining tram features were later removed. The falls have also been associated with hiking hazards, avalanches, film appearances, and continued public access.
