Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center at Utah Olympic Park in Summit County, Utah, was created through the Alf Engen Ski Foundation’s effort to honor skier Alf Engen and preserve his winter sports collection. Dedicated in 1999 and built beginning in 2000, the privately funded structure was used during the 2002 Winter Games by Olympic officials, athletes, and world media before becoming a museum complex. Its two museums preserve Utah ski history and the legacy of the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics, with collections ranging from Engen family trophies and equipment to Olympic medals, costumes, pins, and other memorabilia.
