Candelaria Hills is a mountain range in Mineral County, Nevada, whose highest point is Miller Mountain. The range is historically significant for its connection to one of Nevada’s mineral discoveries. Miller Mountain was the site of “Borax” Smith’s board-and-batten cabin, where he was living when he discovered a rich borax deposit at nearby Teel’s Marsh. That association with Smith and the Teel’s Marsh discovery gives the hills their chief historical importance.
