Grist Mill Covered Bridge in Cambridge, Vermont, just south of Jeffersonville, carries a single lane over the Brewster River on Canyon Road near Vermont Route 108. Built in the nineteenth century, it is one of Vermont’s few surviving Burr arch truss bridges and one of three remaining in Cambridge. Its timber structure, with vertical posts, diagonal bracing, rounded arches, board siding, and a metal gabled roof, reflects a distinctive covered-bridge design. Named for a nearby grist mill, it deteriorated as use declined in the twentieth century, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, rehabilitated in 2004, and continues to serve traffic.
