Montgomery Covered Bridge in Waterville, Vermont, carries Montgomery Road over the North Branch of the Lamoille River on a dead-end road serving a single farm. Usually dated to 1887, though possibly built in the late 1870s or early 1880s, its builder is unknown. The single-span Queen post truss is one of three covered bridges in Waterville and part of a notable cluster of five along the river within about five miles. Known by several names, it later survived storm damage in 1969, a truck breaking through its deck in 1971, and subsequent reinforcement and repairs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
