St. Angela Hall was built in 1861 as a residence for priests with ministerial duties throughout Brown and neighboring counties. It was built by Cincinnati's first Archbishop, John Baptist Purcell, who lived here during his retirement and died here in 1883. Later, it served as classrooms for a children's school, a writing studio for some of the Ursuline Sisters, a dormitory for high school girls, and a residence for the Ursulines. The building was renovated in 2011 and is now used as office space for college staff.
