Picture Puzzle, or Picture Puzzle Peak, is a 13,297-foot mountain in the Palisades area of the John Muir Wilderness in eastern California, within Inyo National Forest. Surrounded by major Sierra Nevada peaks and passes near Bishop Pass, it is the 90th-highest summit in California and the third-highest in the Inconsolable Range. Norman Clyde first climbed it on June 15, 1937; he was one of the Sierra Nevada’s best-known mountaineers and made 130 first ascents, mostly in this range. Climbers use routes including the Northeast Couloir, North Slope, and West Face. Its alpine setting channels runoff east to North Fork Big Pine Creek and west to South Fork Bishop Creek.
