Four miles south of here, the old Chalybeate Springs Resort Hotel stood from 1850 to 1890 and featured sulphur water springs and a fresh water spring on its grounds. In 1975, the fresh water spring was renamed "Nally Spa" to honor Union countian James P. (Jimmy) Nally.
