Cheboygan State Park is a 1,250-acre public recreation area on Lake Huron in northern Michigan, with nearly 4 miles of shoreline, beaches, forest, and trails. Its development unfolded over several decades, beginning with the 1930 transfer of the Cheboygan Point Light site from the U.S. Lighthouse Service to the state. Additional land identified in 1956 and transferred from Black Lake State Forest in 1960 helped form the modern park, which was fully established in 1962. The park offers swimming, fishing, boating, camping, cabins, and trails, and it is especially valued for its lakeshore scenery and views of historic Great Lakes navigation lights and ruins.
