Regular automobile ferry service between Edmonds and Kingston began from the City Dock on May 16, 1923, when the M/V City of Edmonds, owned by the Joyce Brothers of Mukilteo, entered service. The 56 ft. auto ferry could carry 12 cars. Edmonds later became a major ferry terminal with service to Port Townsend, Port Ludlow, and Victoria.
