The Shelbyville Fountain was erected at the intersection of 5th and Main Streets in 1895. It was restored in 1992 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Shelby County, and Shelbyville, with contributions from the Kentucky Bicentennial Commission, Shelbyville Water & Sewer Commission, Moses Ruben Fund for Shelby County, and Shelby County Fiscal Court.
