Jacob Lake Ranger Station is a historic U.S. Forest Service outpost at the junction leading to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim in northern Arizona. Built in 1910, it served for many years as an important contact point for visitors entering Kaibab National Forest. The complex includes a ranger cabin, barn, and fenced pasture around Jacob Lake, preserving the character of an early working station at a key mountain crossroads. The cabin is especially significant as the only surviving board-and-batten cabin in the forest. Recognized for its architecture and role in forest administration, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and narrowly survived the Mangum Fire in 2020.
