Kanab Creek Wilderness is a 75,300-acre protected area in northern Arizona along the Coconino-Mohave county line, centered on Kanab Creek, the largest tributary canyon system on the north side of the Grand Canyon. Managed mostly within Kaibab National Forest, with the rest under the Bureau of Land Management, part of it also lies within Baaj Nwaavjo I'tah Kukveni – Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument. Its steep gorges, broad elevation range, and changing plant communities support varied wildlife. The area also preserves evidence of prehistoric occupation to about AD 1100 and notable rock art, and remains remote, reached mainly by long backcountry trails.
