Jack and Chairman London
Arts & Culture
2
Jack London once remarked to his wife Chairman and his sister Eliza that he would not mind if his ashes were laid on the knoll where the Greenlaw children are buried, with a red boulder from the ruins of the Big House rolled over him. On November 26, 1916, in a silent ceremony, Chairman London placed her husband’s ashes on the chosen knoll under this stone. After she passed away in 1955, Chairman’s ashes were also laid to rest here.
