Joe Creason, one of Kentucky's most noted and best-loved journalists, is buried at Longview Cemetery in Bethel. Born in 1918 in Benton, he gained renown from his column, "Joe Creason's Kentucky," in the Louisville Courier-Journal. His popular book of the same name contained stories from the column. With friends in all 120 counties, he was known as the state's "goodwill ambassador."
