The Fairchild C-119, better known as the "Flying Boxcar," was a versatile aircraft capable of carrying 42 troops or up to 10,000 pounds of cargo, and it could also tow a glider weighing up to 30,000 pounds. This C-119C, serial number 50-33182, was originally serial number 50-0128 and was stationed at Pope AFB from 1952 to 1958. It had two 3500 hp radial F&W R-4360 engines and a crew of two pilots, one navigator, one crew chief, and one radio operator. The aircraft was 86 feet long, had a wingspan of 109 feet, cruised at 210 mph, had a range of 1770 miles, and a gross weight of 73,150 pounds.
