In 1854, Samuel Nevers had this one room schoolhouse built with bricks made in Lovell. It operated as a school from 1854 until 1964. The building was then used as the office of the town selectmen until 2006. The Sweden Historical Society received title to the building in 2014 to renovate and use as its headquarters. It houses historic artifacts, collections, photographs, books, maps and personal items that tell the story about the places and people of the town of Sweden.
