Mountain Meadow Preserve is a one hundred eighty-acre protected open space spanning northwestern Massachusetts and nearby Vermont in Williamstown and Pownal. On Mason Hill, a sub-peak of The Dome, it marks the meeting of the Berkshires and Green Mountains and preserves highland meadows, wetlands, and forested hills. The Trustees of Reservations acquired the property in 1998 through a gift from Pamela B. Weatherbee, and additional land bought in 2000 enlarged it. About four miles of trails support hiking, cross-country skiing, and other low-impact recreation, with views toward Mount Greylock and the Taconic Mountains. It remains valued for scenery, quiet outdoor use, and habitat protection.
