Big Sugar Creek State Park in McDonald County, southwest Missouri, protects more than 2,000 acres along Big Sugar Creek as part of the Elk River water system. Established in 1992, it preserves an important stretch of creek corridor and surrounding landscape. A major portion of the park is designated as the Elk River Breaks Natural Area, underscoring its significance as protected land. The park also includes a three-mile hiking trail that provides access to the creek and nearby terrain.
