Hopemead State Park is a sixty-acre undeveloped public recreation area on the eastern shore of Gardner Lake in the towns of Bozrah and Montville, west of Norwich in southeastern Connecticut. The land became a state park through a mid-twentieth-century gift funded by a bequest from George Dudley Seymour after trustees acquired it from the children of James E. Fuller, who had owned the former lakeside farm of Salomon Gardner. When the transfer to the state was announced in 1955, several farm and residential buildings still stood there, but they were later removed so the land could return to a more natural condition. The park is now used mainly for hiking and fishing.
