Quasdorf Blacksmith and Wagon Shop in Dows, Iowa, is a historic workshop built in 1899 that preserves the setting of a small-town blacksmith and wagon business that served the community for decades. It remained in continuous use until 1990, when Frank Quasdorf left it to the Dows Historical Society. Restored and reopened as a museum, it retains strong ties to the Quasdorf family and to the building’s working past. Inside are blacksmithing and wagon-making machines and tools, including belt-driven and electric welding equipment, original wagon wheels, a forge, and bellows. Its significance lies in preserving an original working environment rather than a reconstructed one.
