White Water Shaker Village was one of the 24 villages founded in the United States between 1787 and 1823 by the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing, generally called Shakers. Ohio once had five Shaker villages, and White Water is the only intact Shaker village in the state, retaining most of its original buildings in their original settings. It is also home to the only standing brick Shaker Meeting House in the country. The North Family of White Water Shaker Village includes ten historic Shaker buildings and eight acres.
