Veterans of Path and Amberson Valley dedicated this memorial to honor the enduring bonds formed in military service, their fallen comrades who paid the supreme price for the future, and the men and women of the community who served in the armed forces. A memorial upgrade in 2017 was made in memory of Elmer F. Beaston Sr., a past post commander, and Virginia F. Beaston, a past auxiliary president, by their children Elmer Jr., Christine, Pamela, and Stacy Jo. The post is named for James W. McCartney, who was killed in France during World War I. It also preserves Fannett-Metal Township's roll of honor, naming veterans from the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, along with lists of those who made the supreme sacrifice.
