A wall of steel contains 3,000 laser-cut holes honoring the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Of the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, 246 were on the doomed flights, 125 were at the Pentagon, and 2,606 were in New York City at and around the Twin Towers and among the response teams on the ground. A total of 411 of the 2,606 in New York were emergency responders from The New York City Fire Department, The New York City Police Department, The Port Authority Police Department, and EMTs from private emergency medical services. At night, the approximate 3,000 holes illuminate to honor the memory of all those who lost and gave their lives.
