Fifty Foot Cliff in Storrs, within Mansfield, Connecticut, is a protected preserve centered on a glacially carved gneiss ledge that rises to just over 100 feet and overlooks eastern Connecticut. The town-owned Fifty-Foot Cliff Preserve spans 102 mostly forested acres, with a 1.4-mile trail from the Mansfield Historical Society that joins the Nipmuck Trail at the Junction. Features along the route include stone walls, cairns, glacial erratics, and a large wolf tree with a rope swing. A granite bench at the top honors filmmaker Ishmael Rosas, and local tradition recalls that voices once carried from the bluff to nearby Coney Rock when the area was more open.
