Located in “Small Lots,” this house began about 1788 when Henry G. Hopper started construction on a 120-acre farm. His son Garret erected the Dutch-style main house in the early 1800s. The north frame wing was built in the 1850s for Garret’s son Thomas, who inherited the homestead in 1872. Thomas’s son, Garret T., was a founder and councilman of Glen Rock. After more than a century of family ownership, he sold the house in 1897.
