KID Museum is a children’s museum and maker space in Bethesda, Maryland, focused on hands-on, workshop-style learning rather than passive exhibits. Opened in 2014, it has grown steadily and in May 2022 expanded into a new Downtown Bethesda location nearly four times the size of its earlier home in the lower level of Bethesda’s Davis Library, which still hosts some programming. Its activities range from wood shop to robotics and are designed to develop creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and technical skills through practical, collaborative work. Since opening, it has welcomed more than 330,000 visitors and become a prominent learning space for children in the area.
