Wilgus State Park in Ascutney, Vermont, occupies 100 acres along the west bank of the Connecticut River, with developed grounds near the water and steep wooded land rising to Pinnacle Point. Established after a 1933 land donation from engineer William J. Wilgus, it gained its first infrastructure in 1935 and 1936 through the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is especially significant for the survival of those New Deal-era features, including a contact station, trails, stone gateposts, and stone fireplaces, which earned it listing on the National Register of Historic Places. Later additions expanded camping and boating facilities while preserving its historic character.
