Pacific Palisades Conservation Area is a 695-acre protected tract along the Meramec River where St. Louis, Jefferson, and Franklin counties meet in eastern Missouri. Named for the river’s rock and sand formations, it has two sections with distinct purposes: an access area in St. Louis County that provides river entry, and a wildlife area in Jefferson County where hunting is permitted. The wildlife section contains forest, prairie, fields, cropland, two lakes, and large bluffs along the Meramec. It supports deer, turkey, doves, herons, and other waterfowl, while the river features notable mussel beds and fish including bluegill, largemouth bass, and crappie.
