Washer Woman is a 500-foot-tall sandstone arch and tower in Canyonlands National Park's Island in the Sky District, named for its resemblance to a woman bent over a washtub. Part of an eroded Wingate Sandstone fin formed from ancient wind-blown dunes about 200 million years ago, it rises prominently above the White Rim Road and helps define the Canyonlands skyline. Its official name was adopted in 1986 after earlier variants. Visible from trails near Mesa Arch and from the White Rim Road, it is also a climbing site, with a first ascent in 1967 and a notable West Face route established in 1982.
