The USS Hyman, DD732, served from 1944 to 1969 and is remembered for shipmates killed in action at Okinawa on April 6, 1945, for crew members lost at sea during World War II and the Korean War, for its first skipper Rollo N. Norgaard, a retired rear admiral and U.S. Naval Academy class of 1928 graduate, and for all of the crew who answered the call for twenty-five years under the motto “In Omnia Paratus.”
