The private chapel in the pastor's residence was used for celebrating daily mass, while Red Church was used only on Sunday. During Father's tenure at St. Charles, he was planning a chapel to be located on a plot of ground directly across the Mississippi River but as near to Red Church as possible, because the majority of his parishioners were reported to live across the river.
