Saint Joseph Church and Cemetery occupied a one-half acre site, with the church built and the congregation active in the middle of the Nineteenth Century. A deed dated 15 February 1847 conveying the land from Peter Durand to Archbishop Purcell of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati noted that the church had already been constructed. The mission closed sometime after SS. Peter & Paul Church was built in 1857 in Napoleon, then Post Office Black Creek, now Glenmont, Ohio.
