Built in 1925 for Saenger-Ehrlich Theatre Enterprises, the Strand Theatre was designed by architects Emile Weil and Charles G. Davis of New Orleans, with interiors designed by Paul Heerwagen of Arkansas. It was the flagship theatre of Saenger Amusement Co., a forerunner of Paramount, and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
