Henry George, who lived from 1839 to 1897, called land the source of all wealth and held that taxes applied to that source induce wise use of land, called capital the primary tool in the production of all wealth and held that taxes on capital destroy that tool of production, and said labor is the basis for production of all wealth and that no taxes should be levied on man’s productive energies. These parks were donated by Fairhope Single Tax Corporation on September 29, 1931.
