Men of the Swiftwater Valley served in the United States Armed Forces during World War One, placing their country's need above opportunities for ease and private gain, and the mountains and people of the valley were to hold them in grateful remembrance. McCoy, Nelson Miller, George Post, Paul Rowe, Omar M. Simpson, Arthur M. Slee, Richard Slee, Frank A. Transue, Lawrence Transue, Vincent Warner, Walter J. Warner, Clarence Weiss, Harold H. Widdoss, Stephen Widdoss, and Jacob M. Woolbert.
